HAR conversation cards act as a stimulus for writing.

Contextualising learning in the environment of the learner enables them to become the authority on the subject, to grow in confidence and to have greater courage and motivation to write about it. Below is a sample of one eager student’s work, using the HAR conversation cards as his stimulus. This student lives in the Gibson desert where the sand is red, his favourite tucker, honey ants, come closer to the surface after rain and the goannas are easier to catch when they are hibernating! He is at home here, he understands and loves the country, it is HIS place and the HARs honour and respect that by allowing him to move into the ‘other’ world through print literacy materials that are about his reality, his language and his culture.13162039_1323911034304287_732199794_n
