Marjorie Nyunga Williams’ reconciliation painting

Cultural Elder Marjorie Nyunga Williams created this beautiful artwork entitled: Yanangu Waltja Tjutangku Nintini Pipirri Tjuta.(Luritja) The English title she gave it is: ‘Both Ways Languages and Culture’.

It depicts working together to teach our kids ‘both ways’ through meaningful collaboration.
Marjorie describes the painting, “Elders and families sitting in a circle, learning the kids, Aboriginal way. The Honey Ant Readers books are in the circle so that the Elder can read out the book, and share the book. They are learning the kids to read. After that the kids can read.” The HARs are shown to be embedded in the culture of the learners.
