Sara-Lee Fishook

Sara-Lee Fishook is a Warlpiri teacher who edited the Warlpiri HAR editions. Sara-Lee says: “Language is very important to teach, to keep culture and language strong. Because Warlpiri is their first language. It makes me proud as a language teacher. I think the HAR resources are good to use and it is good for the kids to learn how to read and learn in their own language, which will develop strong Warlpiri speaking and literacy skills. The pictures and words in the books are good because the words aren’t hard. The pictures are good because they are familiar, so it’s easy to recognise the pictures. I like the new Warlpiri Honey Ant Readers.
