‘Nana Dig’ in the Alice Springs Town Camps

The Honey Ant Readers contribution to the Northern Territory NAPCAN Children’s Week 2012, in the National Year of Reading, has been to visit 3 town camps around Alice Springs, to talk to families about reading with their children, and to demonstrate the HARs.

It has been fun playing with the children, as it always is, and thrilling to watch parents reading the books with so much interest. The highlight of course was singing ‘Nana dig’ and the Luritja version, ‘Kami tjawani’ accompanied by Joe Relic, who is safely back from his Mongol Rally adventure, where he drove from London to Mongolia for charity. We are all thrilled to have him back, as his musical talent lifts any HAR session and both adults and children respond enthusiastically to his energetic guitar playing.
