Recording and Using Video in Language Documentation with Ben Levine and Julia Schulz.

Margaret has been learning invaluable skills for HARs language and teaching documenting work, under the well known video artist and documentary filmmaker, Ben Levine and his assistant Julia Schulz, from Maine, UAS, on  their course “Recording and Using Video in Language Documentation”.

Ben’s work has been seen at the Museum of Modern Art, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and on US and European television. He has produced and performed in live multi-image media events at the Kitchen in New York, the World Trade Center, Lincoln Center, and the Hayden Planetarium.  His productions have earned Gold and Silver Awards from ITVA, IFTVA, Broderson and others.

Julia, who works alongside Ben, is an expert on language revival in Native American and Cajun French communities, where she uses film and other cultural material to create an environment that is comfortable and safe for experimenting with self-expression.
