Rhyme Time with the Honey Ant Readers

Rhymes and  jingles, particularly when put to music, are a terrific, fun and very successful way of teaching oral English, so we will be putting rhymes on this website as a resource for teachers this year. Aboriginal English speakers have difficulty with many Standard Australian English sounds, as they do not use them in their Indigenous languages, or in AE.   Standard Australian English speakers, similarly, have difficulty with sounds not used in SAE.  We will focus on sounds that AE speakers may find difficult first. Please feel free to use the rhymes in your classrooms..  better still while beating the rhythm with sticks, under a tree in the playground!
